Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Cupertino, California, to help engineering teams understand, model, and optimize infrastructure demand across large-scale cloud services.

This hands-on role requires broad experience in distributed systems, observability, cloud infrastructure, and capacity planning to ensure resources are used efficiently without compromising reliability. You will partner with multiple engineering teams to translate workload signals into measurable resource

Qualifications

• Five+ years of software engineering experience with large-scale distributed services and infrastructure.
• Proficient in Java, Python, or Go, with production-quality systems and automation.
• Ability to reason about complex architectures across technologies, services, and infrastructure layers.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, compute, storage, networking, and containers.
• Experience with observability including metrics, logs, and performance data to understand system behavior.
• Excellent communication and ability to build technical partnerships across organizations.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering teams to understand architectures, dependencies, workloads, and underlying infrastructure.
• Translate service consumption into measurable resource requirements that evolve with architecture and business needs.
• Develop scalable solutions, tooling, and automation to provide visibility into resource use and validate capacity.
• Identify and drive improvements that increase efficiency while preserving reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Establish repeatable methodologies for demand modelling, capacity management, and infrastructure efficiency across diverse apps and workloads.
• Collaborate across teams to align resource requirements with business impact and trade-offs.
