Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to optimize cloud efficiency across services and platforms. You will analyze architectures, workloads and configurations to drive cost reductions while maintaining reliability and scalability.

A hands-on role requires deep experience with distributed systems and collaboration across teams. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience, strong Java/JVM expertise, and a background in Fin-Ops or cloud operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing, operating and optimizing services/infrastructure in cloud and data center environments.
• Ability to architect and drive complex solutions across app, data, network and compute layers.
• Experience tuning applications for performance, efficiency and cost optimization.
• Strong experience with monitoring, metrics collection, dashboards and log analytics.
• Proficient in Java with deep JVM knowledge and optimization techniques.
• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Analyze application architectures, workload utilization and usage patterns to identify inefficiencies.
• Identify configurations or architectural changes to improve components of the stack or infrastructure.
• Understand operational, business risks and financial impact of changes for optimizations.
• Develop tools to enable stakeholders to analyze and act at scale.
• Collaborate across engineering teams and leadership to present solutions.
