Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain secure, high-performance software systems. The role focuses on cloud-native applications using Java and Python on AWS, with an emphasis on robustness and security.

The ideal candidate has a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, at least 7 years of federal contract experience, and resides in Maryland. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver mission-critical systems and advance DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.
• Residency in Maryland.
• 7+ years of experience on cleared federal contracts.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain backend services in Java and Python.
• Deploy cloud-native solutions on AWS (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudWatch).
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated tests.
• Apply secure coding practices with security engineers.
• Perform code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and systems engineers.
• Document architecture, APIs, runbooks, and procedures.
• Optimize performance and cost in cloud environments; assist capacity planning.
