Job summary

ALSO. is seeking a Senior Cloud Backend Developer to lead the evolution of our core connected EV infrastructure. You will shape secure, scalable backend systems powering fleet data, product APIs, and analytics across global deployments.

You will mentor engineers, influence architectural decisions, and partner with cross-functional teams to elevate our cloud platform from ingestion to API exposure. This role is anchored in Silicon Valley with a focus on fast-paced 0→1 development.

Qualifications

• 8+ yrs building and scaling backend systems
• Proven ability to design, ship, and operate production systems from scratch
• Strong knowledge of API design (REST/GraphQL) and data exchange
• Experience with authentication/authorization protocols and IoT telemetry

Responsibilities

• Contribute to architecture and backend implementation for secure, scalable IoT infrastructure
• Improve core cloud infrastructure: API design, database schema, service interactions, observability
• Build data and API integrations with external services and partner platforms
• Strengthen security and privacy across the platform
• Design for high availability and geographic redundancy across global deployments
• Ensure production readiness with automated testing and deployment safety
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical decision-making and hiring
• Drive a culture of technical excellence and collaboration
