Job summary

Oracle Corporation is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer - Cloud and Automation to design, provision, and operate reliable cloud infrastructure. The role emphasizes hands-on work with Terraform, Chef, Kubernetes, and Python to automate provisioning and deployments across OCI, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

You will build CI/CD pipelines, manage on-call incidents, and collaborate with security and development teams to improve reliability and deployment consistency.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud operations, or a related role.
• Proficiency with Terraform and infrastructure as code.
• Hands-on experience with Chef and configuration management.
• Experience deploying workloads on OCI, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Willingness to participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation.
• Practical knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, and Docker.
• Proficiency in Python for automation and operational tooling.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, routing, load balancing, TLS, and firewalls.
• Experience with Git, code review, and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, provision, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform.
• Develop and maintain Chef cookbooks for configuration management.
• Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot Kubernetes workloads and clusters.
• Write Python scripts and tools to automate provisioning, deployments, maintenance, and operational tasks.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure changes and application deployments.
• Respond to production alerts and incidents during assigned on-call shifts, troubleshoot issues, restore service, and coordinate escalations as needed.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, backup, and recovery capabilities.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, configuration, and deployment issues.
• Apply security best practices, including access controls, secrets management, and patching.
• Collaborate with development and security teams to improve reliability, performance, and deployment consistency.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation and operational runbooks.
