Job summary

Sentara Health seeks an experienced Cloud Architect Manager to lead the Cloud Architecture function, guiding scalable, secure cloud solutions across IT. You will manage Cloud Architects and Engineers, define roadmaps, and partner with engineering, operations, and security to enable enterprise transformation.

The ideal leader has deep cloud expertise, strong people leadership, and a track record aligning technology strategy with clinical and business priorities in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of IT experience
• 4+ years of project management
• 10+ years in IT infra, software development, and technical delivery leadership
• 8+ years in cloud architecture with leadership
• Experience leading enterprise cloud transformations in health systems
• Proficiency in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Knowledge of API management, microservices, and event-driven architectures
• Experience with data platforms and AI/ML toolchains
• Familiarity with HIPAA and GDPR in cloud environments

Responsibilities

• Lead cloud architecture function and align teams across engineering, operations, and security
• Develop cloud platform roadmaps and reference architectures
• Guide secure, scalable, and resilient cloud implementations
• Oversee cloud health, performance, and availability with engineering/ops
• Coach teams on DevSecOps and enterprise patterns
• Drive AI use cases including NLP and LLM solutions
• Ensure compliance with healthcare data privacy and interoperability standards
