Job summary

Illumio, the leader in ransomware containment, is seeking a Cloud Architect in Sunnyvale to design and implement scalable cloud solutions across AWS, Azure or GCP, with a focus on security and resilience. You will collaborate with product, developers, and DevOps to understand requirements and architect cloud-native, highly available systems.

You will deploy cloud architectures using Kubernetes, Terraform, CloudFormation and related tools, balancing performance and risk.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Cloud Architect or similar role in production.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) at API/programming level.
• Knowledge of networking and security controls is a plus.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Python.
• REST API client experience.
• Familiarity with CloudFormation, Terraform.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker.
• Gang of Four design patterns.

Responsibilities

• Deliver cloud architecture that solves business problems and balances architecture and margins.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect scalable cloud solutions.
• Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based architectures prioritizing efficiency, scalability, availability, performance, and security.
• Evaluate and select cloud technologies and tools, including Kubernetes, to drive innovation.
• Optimize cloud-based systems for high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery.
• Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting for cloud infrastructure.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities.
• Stay updated with trends in cloud computing, distributed systems, and cybersecurity.
