Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA is seeking a senior technical leader with 12+ years of experience to guide architecture for mission‑critical software systems across space, ground, and launch environments. This onsite, full‑time position requires collaboration with diverse teams, a strong communication skillset, and the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, integration, architecture, or DevSecOps roles spanning development, test, and modernization environments.
• Hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines, custom testing frameworks, or automation infrastructure.
• Hands‑on experience with modern software development, integration workflows, and infrastructure‑as‑code concepts.
• Demonstrated technical communication and ability to lead cross‑functional technical teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
• Willingness to travel occasionally to work locations or customer sites as required.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior‑level architectural direction for mission‑critical software systems spanning space, ground, and launch environments.
• Lead the evolution of legacy architectures into modern, microservices‑based configurations deployed across cloud and virtualized environments.
• Design and champion enterprise‑scale automated pipeline architectures and continuous assurance processes.
• Lead technical trade studies and prototyping to evaluate cloud‑native and containerization technologies.
• Oversee end‑to‑end software integration and verification, including requirements sell‑off and demos.
• Interface with customers, systems engineering, security teams, and program leadership to align execution with mission priorities.
• Mentor and build strong technical teams while encouraging innovative practices.
