Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA, seeks a Space Cybersecurity Engineering Lead who will collaborate with SSC Space Vehicle programs to define cybersecurity architectures and capability definitions across bus, payloads, and subsystems.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering or computer science and at least 10 years in cybersecurity, systems engineering, or architecture, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance and travel about 10% domestically.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, systems engineering, or architecture.
• Experience applying cybersecurity to embedded, mission-critical, or constrained systems.
• Ability to translate cybersecurity into system architecture decisions.
• Willing to travel domestically ~10%.
• Ability to obtain TS/SCI security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Lead Space Vehicle cybersecurity architectures supporting SSC mission systems and customers.
• Define and maintain SV Systems cybersecurity capability structures using systems engineering principles.
• Translate mission and intent into architecture-level constructs and expected system behavior.
• Define how cybersecurity capabilities are evaluated and validated within SV systems.
• Define measurable outcomes for cybersecurity effectiveness (e.g., containment, detection, mission impact).
• Direct MBSE/modeling teams to ensure accurate representation of cybersecurity capabilities and traceability from capability to system elements.
