Job summary

BMO Financial Group is seeking a Senior Cloud, AI & Data Security Engineer to design and implement security across AWS, Azure, and AI/ML platforms. You will embed controls in CI/CD, automate security, and partner with DevOps to protect data and models.

The role demands leadership in cloud security, AI risk, and data privacy, with a strong background in secure cloud architectures, governance, and collaboration with engineering teams. Versioned policies and ongoing audits are part of everyday work.

Qualifications

• University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 7–10 years in security architectures/engineering across cloud, data, and AI domains.
• Security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CCSK, or cloud security specialty certs.

Responsibilities

• Cloud Security: assess, design, implement, automate, and document security controls for AWS and Azure.
• Develop and maintain security patterns for cloud platforms and services; ensure adherence to best practices.
• Design and implement security baseline controls for Cloud Services in CI/CD pipelines.
• Build and deliver policies as code, automating security controls and best practices.
• Review code for security implications (IAM roles/policies, Security Groups).
• Be the cloud security SME for Cloud Engineering and partners in IaaS, PaaS, SaaS implementations.
• AI & ML Security: define and implement a security framework for AI/ML from data ingestion to deployment and monitoring.
• Assess AI threats (adversarial attacks, data poisoning, prompt injection, model theft).
• Evaluate and secure AI/ML platforms (SageMaker, Azure ML, OpenAI APIs) against risk standards.
• Collaborate with data science teams to integrate security into MLOps pipelines and ensure auditability.
• Monitor AI threat landscapes and regulatory developments to translate into controls.
• Data Security: implement and manage DSPM tools to monitor sensitive data exposure across clouds.
• Establish controls for data stores and platforms (Snowflake, S3, Data Lake, data warehouses).
• Drive data-centric security practices within development and analytics teams.
• General Security Leadership: provide guidance on architecture, authentication, and system security.
