Job summary

Southern Company Services seeks an experienced DevOps Engineer IV to design, implement, and support enterprise cloud infrastructure, AI platforms, and DevOps automation in Atlanta. The role emphasizes GCP/Azure, IaC, security, CI/CD, and FinOps to drive cost efficiency and governance.

You will build scalable AI infrastructure, monitor cloud environments, and contribute to operational excellence across AI systems and modern DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• 10+ years of DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Infrastructure Automation experience.
• Hands-on experience with GCP (preferred), Azure, or Databricks.
• Experience with Terraform, Bicep, Kubernetes, containers, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong scripting and automation skills.
• Experience implementing cloud security and governance best practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud infrastructure using GCP, Azure, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Bicep).
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automate cloud deployments.
• Deploy and manage containerized applications and cloud-native workloads.
• Implement cloud security, IAM, encryption, secrets management, and compliance controls.
• Build scalable AI infrastructure and integrate governance into deployment pipelines.
• Monitor AI models, cloud environments, and application performance.
• Drive FinOps initiatives, including cloud cost optimization and resource management.
• Design enterprise observability solutions for AI platforms and cloud infrastructure.
• Support AI/ML lifecycle management, monitoring, drift detection, and automated response.
• Develop and support agent-based AI systems and modern DevOps practices.
