Job summary

Rivian seeks a Sr. Manager to lead the Closures Manufacturing Engineering team, owning process strategy for closure panels and mechanisms across vehicle programs.

You will mentor engineers and act as the technical lead for closures build quality, cost, and launch readiness, partnering with Design Engineering, Quality, and Plant Operations to ensure robust processes. Located at Normal, IL, Plymouth, MI, or Atlanta, GA, you will drive program gates, establish standard work, and manage tooling

Qualifications

• 12+ years experience in automotive manufacturing engineering with closures focus.
• 5+ years of people leadership managing engineers or technical teams.
• Experience taking closures from concept through launch including ramp-up.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor closures manufacturing team.
• Own process strategy and equipment concept development for closures.
• Influence closures design for manufacturability with early DFM feedback.
• Lead problem-solving across virtual builds, prototypes, and launches.
• Drive program deliverables: design, development, quality, timing and cost.
• Coordinate with Body Structures, Stamping, Paint and General Assembly teams.
• Manage tooling suppliers/integrators for closures equipment and ramp-up.
• Establish standard work, PFMEA/DFMEA documentation, and training.
• Provide KPI updates to Body Manufacturing Engineering leadership.
• Support build events and production launches for closures readiness.
