Responsibilities

• Lead SBA transactions (7(a) & 504) from approval to funding, including document preparation (Notes, Guarantees, UCC filings), review, and wire requests.
• Verify strict adherence to SBA SOPs, eligibility, equity injections, use of proceeds, and required SBA forms (1919, 1920, 159, 912).
• Act as the main point of contact for borrowers, brokers, attorneys, title officers, and internal teams (Underwriting, Credit, Servicing).
• Independently manage a high-volume closing pipeline, clear bottlenecks, and track deadlines to ensure timely funding.
• Serve as an SBA subject-matter expert, guide junior staff, and assist with internal quality control and SBA audits.

Our client is seeking a Senior Closing Officer to lead the closing process for complex SBA loans. Serving as an SBA subject-matter expert, you will ensure full compliance with SBA SOPs, credit policies, and eligibility rules while providing guidance to junior staff, underwriters, and external partners.

Compensation

Salary: $75,000 - $100,000 depending on level of experience.

What You’ll Do

• Loan Closing & Documentation: Lead SBA transactions (7(a) & 504) from approval to funding, including document preparation (Notes, Guarantees, UCC filings), review, and wire requests.
• SBA Compliance: Verify strict adherence to SBA SOPs, eligibility, equity injections, use of proceeds, and required SBA forms (1919, 1920, 159, 912).
• Cross-Team Coordination: Act as the main point of contact for borrowers, brokers, attorneys, title officers, and internal teams (Underwriting, Credit, Servicing).
• Pipeline Management: Independently manage a high-volume closing pipeline, clear bottlenecks, and track deadlines to ensure timely funding.
• Mentorship & Quality Assurance: Serve as an SBA subject-matter expert, guide junior staff, and assist with internal quality control and SBA audits.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of SBA Closing experience ( 7(a) required; 504 preferred).
• Advanced knowledge of SBA SOPs, 7(a) and 504 program rules, and closing procedures.
• Strong understanding of business financials, collateral documentation, title/escrow procedures, and legal documentation.
• High attention to detail with strong organizational and deadline-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple closings simultaneously with minimal supervision.
