Job summary

Lilly is seeking an Advisor to lead technical direction for Clinical Tech Design & Operations in Indianapolis. You will shape modern, resilient solutions, drive secure-by-design architectures, and collaborate with Product Eng, Cyber Security, and Infrastructure to scale design and operational systems.

The role emphasizes AI-enabled engineering, agentic workflows, and reducing technical debt while delivering high-quality, observable systems across a large ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related field.
• Extensive software/systems engineering experience delivering enterprise-scale solutions.
• Experience in integrations, APIs, event-driven architecture, and cloud platforms.
• Experience applying AI in day-to-day engineering.
• Experience solving technical problems affecting operations at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction of complex initiatives across clinical design and operations.
• Lead data and solution integration across the ecosystem for reliable connectivity.
• Partner with engineering, cyber security, and Infra & Digital Core to drive standards.
• Research and apply emerging technology including AI/agentic workflows.
• Champion modernization, resilience, observability, and recoverability.
• Embed secure and AI-assisted engineering to accelerate delivery.
• Define integration patterns and engineering standards across teams.
• Elevate technical colleagues via knowledge sharing.
• Improve engineering processes and guide organizational change.
• Gain support for initiatives spanning clinical design, engineering, cyber, and infra.
• Provide authoritative troubleshooting on complex integration and design-system challenges.
