Senior Clinical Specialist

Full Time US

2 days ago Requisition ID: 1048

Why This Role Matters

The Sr. Clinical Specialist is the engine behind a successful implementation and ongoing clinical adoption. You bring technical mastery, instructional skill, and project ownership to every account you touch — and your work is what makes the difference between a customer who renews and one who drifts. We're a mission-driven, growth-stage company with a proven install base and aggressive expansion goals. If you're energized by complexity, thrive in clinical environments, and want your work to matter, this is the role.

Role Summary

The Sr. Clinical Specialist is a highly proficient, execution-focused member of the field team — dedicated to clinical implementation, user training, and increasing adoption across all levels. Working closely with Clinical Success Managers, Project Managers and the Application Support team, this role owns the training and clinical project delivery workstreams that drive measurable outcomes for customers and the company.

Where the Clinical Success Manager leads the relationship and owns account health, the Sr. Clinical Specialist owns execution depth. That narrower focus creates higher mastery of the platform, of implementation processes, and of how to meet clinicians where they are, in the workflows that matter most to their patients. This is a remote position with a 50% travel expectation.

Every Sr. Clinical Specialist owns the full clinical scope of the role and carries a specialization — a defined area of company value where you spend dedicated time and build deep expertise. The area of specialty will be defined with its own key responsibilities and qualifications and may adjust over time based on needs of the organization.

Key Responsibilities – Core Clinical Role

  • Continually promote interest and curiosity about the Etiometry platform by sharing the benefits and utility of the software, upcoming features and new use cases.
  • Identify and maintain engagement of clinical sponsors, department leads and super users throughout initial implementation and post go-live visits by continually highlighting value and outcomes.
  • Partner with CSM, PM and Application Support to coordinate new account implementations, platform expansions, pathway launches and version updates — maintaining clear timelines, aligned priorities, and ownership of clinical workstreams.
  • Lead the clinical component of implementations in parallel with the broader implementation team, including stakeholder engagement, site readiness, and go-live support.
  • Participate in development and testing of defined Clinical Implementation processes; flag gaps and support process refinement as the role and company scale.
  • Understand the end-to-end technical implementation process; participate in software validation, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues to support a smooth and successful go-live.
  • Educate clinical stakeholders on platform value propositions, risk algorithms, use cases, and pathway offerings — helping each discipline see the benefits of the platform for their own practice.
  • Develop and execute training plans for initial implementation and ongoing account support, tailored to each ICU's workflows and the needs of the multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Deliver training virtually and on-site in various formats (faculty mtgs, at-the-elbow, etc.) for various audiences based on the specific use cases for each site.
  • Train superusers to serve as interim trainers and initial troubleshooters to help increase and maintain system utilization and accessibility.
  • Act as a two-way information channel between customers and internal teams — sharing clinical success stories, product feedback, feature requests, and clinical insights to R&D, Marketing, and Product Management.
  • Key responsibilities for the specialty area will be defined as an addendum to this job description.

Skills & Qualifications

Clinical foundation (required)

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a clinical field; active clinical licensure or certification (RN, RT, NP, APP, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 4 years of critical-care experience — ICU, cardiac care, or critical-care transport. Experience working with multiple departments, hospitals & ICUs preferred.
  • Demonstrated success building rapport and credibility with physicians, fellows, residents, APPs, nursing, and respiratory therapy.
  • Proven ability to successfully integrate software into clinical workflows and facilitate practice changes.
  • Experienced and confident in adult education and training delivery.

Software Experience

  • Minimum 3 years implementing software for a clinical analytics, decision support, biomedical device or other health tech vendor.
  • Experience training all levels of clinical users to navigate and interact with applications, interpret data and graphs, and effectively integrate software into daily workflows to realize value.
  • Comfortable with technical terminology, savvy enough to complete initial troubleshooting and figure out solutions to solve basic system issues.
  • Experience working with IT-based resources to effectively communicate issues and test changes.
  • Proficient in tools used across clinical and business environments: Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, CRM, Zoom, Teams, SharePoint, analytical software

Cross-cutting

  • Effectively manage multiple simultaneous workstreams with poise, professionalism and positivity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — able to translate technical concepts for clinical, executive, and non-technical audiences and adjust to varied audiences on the fly.
  • High degree of autonomy and initiative; self-manages priorities and proactively surfaces issues and opportunities.
  • Flexible availability to accommodate customer schedules and shifts, able to travel around 50% domestically and internationally.

Competency Profile

Conscientious: Meticulous follow-through on implementations, training records, CRM documentation, and project timelines — nothing falls through the cracks.

Collaborative: Thrives in a team-based field model; builds strong working relationships with CSM, PM, and clinical stakeholders across every account.

Persistent: Maintains momentum through complex go-lives and clinical change management — doesn't let resistance, ambiguity, or competing priorities derail progress.

Creative: Adapts training formats, engagement strategies, and platform narratives to meet each ICU where it is — not where you wish it were.

Technically Adept: Rapidly masters new software, workflows, and integration concepts; earns credibility by knowing the platform as well as any engineer and the workflow as well as any clinician.
