Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Senior Social Worker (SSW) to provide advanced psychosocial interventions in veteran care at Biloxi facilities, including clinics without direct supervision such as CBOCs.

Licensed clinicians independently develop and implement treatment plans and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams. The role requires MSW CSWE, full licensure, and at least two years of post-licensure experience in mental health; GS-12 level with supervisory potential.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed or certified at the master's level.
• Master's degree in Social Work from CSWE-accredited program.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• English language proficiency required.
• Two years post-advanced practice experience; one year at GS-11 level.
• Fully licensed preferred; five years mental health experience.

Responsibilities

• Independently conducts psychosocial assessments.
• Develops treatment plans with Veteran and family in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provides psychosocial interventions, counseling, or psychotherapy.
• Coordinates community-based services and referrals to VA programs and community agencies.
• Identifies high-risk patients and provides case management services.
