Job summary

Ipsen Biopharmaceuticals Inc. is seeking a Senior Clinical Science Specialist for Rare Disease / Liver, covering Providence, RI and Eastern Connecticut.

This role leads high-impact accounts, engages diverse stakeholders, and leverages data to drive strategic outcomes. Ideal candidates have eight years in life-sciences with at least five in rare/specialty areas and three years in specialty biopharma sales; GI/Hepatology experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Eight years life-sciences experience, incl. 5+ years in rare/specialty areas.
• At least 3 years in specialty biopharma sales.
• GI and/or Hepatology experience preferred.
• BA/BS required; MBA/MSc a plus.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed objectives for assigned brands.
• Manage KPIs, sales, share and other metrics.
• Navigate complex multi-stakeholder networks including hospitals and healthcare communities.
• Manage geography and accounts with prioritization and reporting.
• Build professional relationships guided by patient interests, per Ipsen policies.
• Discuss with physicians based on approved resources and messages.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve customer needs.
• Review market data to support strategic planning.

Job Description

The Senior Clinical Science Specialist is an advanced team member who demonstrates strong clinical expertise, commercial acumen, and account leadership. This role manages complex accounts, engages diverse stakeholders, and leverages data to drive strategic decisions and outcomes. Senior CSS consistently perform at a high level, with fluent capabilities and growing mastery in key areas. This role will be responsible for the state of RI and eastern CT.

Main Responsibilities

• Achieve or exceed objectives associated with assigned brands.
• These may include sales, share, and other quantitative and qualitative KPIs as determined in a periodic basis
• Effectively and professionally navigate through complex multi-stakeholder organizations including integrated networks, hospitals and healthcare communities
• Manage the assigned geography and customer accounts in an efficient manner, following principles of key physician/account prioritization, daily call reporting, and resource utilization
• Develop and maintain appropriate professional relationships with customers, guided by the best interests of patients, and bound by Ipsen policies and procedures
• Engage in in-depth conversations with physicians and other healthcare professionals entirely based on approved resources and messages and consistent with the approved label(s)
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional team members to identify and resolve customer needs appropriately and with a high sense of urgency
• Review and analyze market/customer data to support and execute strategic planning

Knowledge & Experience

• Eight years life-sciences experience, including at least five years in rare or specialty areas, and at least three years in specialty biopharma sales
• Ideal candidates have experience in GI and/or Hepatology
• Proven track record for consistently meeting or exceeding quantitative and qualitative targets
• Demonstrated understanding of the payer and clinical landscape, especially in specialty & rare diseases
• Proven patient centricity demonstrated by empathy, understanding and commitment to support patients
• Superior presentation, organization, administration, and written communication skills
• Market, Disease and Product Knowledge
• Live in the defined territory
• Education / Certifications: BA/BS is required; MBA, MSc, Nursing and other advanced degrees are a plus

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this position is $135,000 - $195,000. The pay range displayed above is the range of base pay compensation within which Ipsen expects to pay for this role at the time of this posting. Individual compensation within this range depends on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge and demonstrated skills. This job is eligible to participate in our incentive compensation program as well as our long-term incentives program.
