Job summary

Bergen County Division of Family Guidance is seeking a Senior Clinical Psychologist to lead assessments and psychotherapy across a range of services for at-risk youth and families. The role involves supervising trainees, coordinating with a patient care team, and applying diverse psychotherapeutic techniques in a public health setting.

Requirements include a Doctorate in Psychology, NJ licensure, and a minimum of three years of supervision experience.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Unrestricted NJ licensure as a Practicing Psychologist.
• Minimum three years’ experience to supervise permit holders for licensure.

Responsibilities

• Administers and interprets psychological tests to diagnose mental and personality disorders.
• Conducts psychodiagnosis and psychotherapy for mentally disturbed persons.
• Prepares diagnostic and treatment recommendations for a patient care team.
• Organizes and conducts group therapy sessions with supervision of trainees.
• Initiates, conducts and reports on research studies.
• May direct psychotherapeutic activity in the absence of a higher-level psychologist.
• Interviews patients to obtain social and psychological information and provides recommendations.
• Drafts correspondence and prepares various psychological reports.
