Job summary

County of Bergen seeks a Senior Clinical Psychologist for the Division of Family Guidance to plan and perform assessments and provide psychotherapy to at‑risk youth and families. The role requires a Doctorate in Psychology, NJ licensure, and at least three years of supervisory experience; full‑time schedule with some evenings.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Psychology with completion of a supervised internship.
• Unrestricted New Jersey licensure as a Practicing Psychologist.
• Minimum three years’ experience to supervise permit holders for licensure.

Responsibilities

• Administers and interprets psychological tests to diagnose mental and personality disorders.
• Conducts psychodiagnosis and psychotherapy for mentally disturbed persons.
• Performs psychological assessments and prepares diagnostic and treatment recommendations.
• Utilizes therapeutic techniques according to patient needs.
• Organizes and conducts group therapy sessions; consults on patient objectives.
• Initiates and conducts research studies.
• Supervises psychological trainees.
