We are looking for a talented Senior Clinical Nurse I Ortho Service Line Coordinator to join our team here at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
Job Summary:
The Service Line Coordinator is a professional leader who serves in a blended role of leadership and bedside nurse. The Coordinator is responsible for the assessment, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the delivery of safe and effective patient care. The Coordinator will work together with the Nurse Manager to facilitate, mentor, and evaluate others to grow professionally and advance their knowledge and skills. The Service Line Coordinator will continuously assess the OR needs to ensure adequate resources for current and upcoming shifts by collaborating with the Nurse Manager. The Coordinator will be prepared to assume the duties of the Nurse Manager in her/his absence. The Coordinator will hold team members accountable by ensuring adherence to appropriate federal, state, and local regulations, Professional Standards, hospital policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Education & Experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Current and active specialty certification, OR current matriculation or completion of a degree or certificate program (Post-Baccalaureate or higher, 12 credits or greater) within past 24 months, OR formal teaching (submit signed “Approval for Formal Teaching”) within past 24 months, OR member of a professional association board or committee within past 24 months (not a hospital committee), OR actively participates as a peer reviewer for a professional journal (minimum of 2/year, submit signed “Peer Reviewer Validation Form”). Demonstrated ability to assume a clinical leadership role and effectiveness as a multidisciplinary team member.
Ability to learn and use computer systems to manage patient information.
Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served. Knowledge of principles of growth and development over the lifespan and ability to assess data relevant to the patient’s needs based on age and population-specific requirements.
Demonstrated highly effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
