Job summary

Antelope Valley Medical Center in Lancaster, CA is seeking a Senior Clinical Laboratory Scientist - Informatics to manage all areas of the assigned department under leadership. You will provide technical support, evaluate quality control, coordinate training, and implement new software.

In the absence of leadership, you may assume lab responsibilities. The role requires CLS licensure in California, strong data systems knowledge, and experience with LIS/APS/BBS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree satisfying CLS license requirements in CA.
• Three years of general clinical laboratory experience.
• One year of informatics experience preferable.
• One year of acute care hospital experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates PC and hardware set-up.
• Interacts with Laboratory and ITSG for project development and problem resolution.
• Directs maintenance and development of data dictionaries, charge and revenue tables, test tables, reports, interfaces, and revisions in the LIS and APS.
• Troubleshoots LIS/BBS with ITSG support as necessary.
• Retrieves patient results from archived medical records.
• Coordinates orientation of laboratory staff and physician offices in LIS, APS and BBS.
• Communicates with laboratory staff, nursing staff, and physicians regarding deviations in testing and reporting.
• Attends required meetings and assists with regulatory inspections.
• Transports specimens and supplies between main hospital lab and satellite locations.
• Adds support to other Laboratory staff as needed.
