Job summary

Alameda Health System is seeking an AHD Senior Clinical Laboratory Scientist in Alameda, California. The role performs medical laboratory tests, analyses and related duties to support diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.

Responsibilities include chemical analyses of body fluids, quality control, calibrations, phlebotomy with high accuracy, and potential supervision of laboratory staff. Current California CLS licensure is required and compensation includes a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License required.
Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License is required.

Responsibilities

Conducts chemical analyses of body fluids to determine presence of components according to laboratory protocols.
Performs quality control studies, calibrations and validations to ensure accuracy of clinical data.
Performs phlebotomies with high accuracy and trains on phlebotomy as needed.
Visits off-site locations to collect samples from patients.
Maintains and troubleshoots laboratory instrumentation and ensures equipment is operational.
Trains new employees in hospital and laboratory policies, procedures and operations.
Coordinates with patient care departments to provide optimal patient care.
May oversee day-to-day laboratory operations and staff as assigned.
