Job summary

Covenant Health in Oak Ridge, TN, is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Assistant/Senior Clinical Laboratory Assistant for full-time daytime coverage. The role includes phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen processing, and entering orders in the hospital information system.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy techniques and proper specimen handling knowledge.
• Ability to operate hospital information systems and basic office software.
• Strong reading, writing, grammar and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs accessioning and specimen processing.
• Performs order entry and basic patient registration.
• Performs all basic phlebotomy functions for adults, children, and infants.
• Performs EKGs.
• Performs testing functions under supervision per state law.
• Ensures accuracy of patient, specimen, and order information.
• Monitors supply levels and replenishes stock as needed.
• Collaborates with team to ensure quality and timely collections.
• Performs other departmental maintenance and duties as assigned.
