Job summary

TrueCare in San Marcos, CA, seeks a Senior Clinical Informaticist to bridge the informatics group with clinical and business partners. The role focuses on translating clinical content into actionable EHR applications, overseeing high-level analyses, and providing mentorship to analysts and informaticists.

The Senior CI leads design, build, testing, and training for clinical applications, and guides upgrades, optimizations, and maintenance within a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Informatics or related field.
• 6–8 years of healthcare experience supporting an EHR as analyst/informaticist.
• Direct experience with EHR implementation or version upgrade.
• Understanding of healthcare workflows and project management basics.
• Knowledge of learning styles and training tools.
• Proficient in MS Office and web conferencing.
• HIPAA privacy understanding.
• Knowledge of information systems and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Liaison between clinical/business partners and the informatics department; serve as a role model for EHR analysts.
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of EHR applications and third-party systems.
• Lead design, build, and testing of clinical application components; mentor staff.
• Optimize clinical workflow processes and drive improvement opportunities.
• Participate in and lead task forces related to EHR applications.
• Prepare for clinical systems upgrades, including UAT and communications.
• Translate requirements into functional specifications and project plans.
• Support PMO practices for medium to large informatics projects.
• Drive strategic initiatives with vendor-aligned governance.
• Coordinate system designs with department leaders and vendors.
• Create and maintain job aids, workflow docs, and training materials.
