Job summary

HistoSonics Inc. seeks a Sr. Clinical Applications Specialist to develop clinical competency and field readiness of newly hired commercial team members through immersive coaching and mentorship.

You will bridge classroom education with real‑world histotripsy procedures, ensuring safe, effective field support. Travel up to 70% to customer sites, training events, and internal meetings, guiding onboarding cohorts and collaborating with Clinical Training to continuously improve curricula and field

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in clinical discipline strongly preferred.
• ~5+ years of experience in clinical applications, clinical education, medical affairs, or post‑market clinical support within medical devices or interventional medicine.
• Strong understanding of image‑guided procedures, treatment workflow, and physician training models.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret clinical data, evaluate safety trends, and communicate complex clinical concepts clearly.
• Excellent communication skills, including translating clinical evidence into field‑ready guidance.

Responsibilities

• Execute the field immersion phase of the organization’s onboarding program with hands‑on procedural coaching and performance feedback for multiple roles.
• Develop clinical competency and field readiness of new hires through coaching and progressive skill development.
• Coach on clinical workflow, physician interaction, imaging optimization, treatment planning, procedural execution, customer engagement, and post‑procedure responsibilities.
• Conduct structured competency evaluations and provide developmental feedback to support continuous improvement.
• Maintain onboarding progress documentation in the Learning Management System (LMS).
• Identify performance gaps and implement individualized development plans for onboarding progression.
• Recommend readiness for independent field deployment based on competency standards.
• Collaborate with Clinical Training to support Foundations and Advanced Training through simulation labs and workshops.
• Ensure standardized execution of clinical workflows, best practices, and documentation across cohorts.
• Coordinate field immersion experiences and exposure to varied clinical environments with the Clinical Applications Manager.
• Improve onboarding curriculum and learning resources based on feedback.
• Identify recurring gaps and provide actionable feedback for content and coaching strategy.
• Serve as the primary clinical mentor for onboarding and ongoing field development.
