This position is full time Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:30am - 5pm MST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

We offer weeks of on-the-job training. The hours during training will be 8:30am - 5:00pm MST, Monday – Friday.

If you are located within the Pacific, Mountain, OR Central Time Zone, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for other team members
  • Manage the intake of members or the admission/discharge information post notification
  • Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities and the clinical team to manage requests for services
  • Manage the referral process, reviewing incoming and outgoing referrals and prior authorizations, including intake, notification and census roles
  • Resolve inquiries from members and/or providers
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/ GED OR equivalent years of experience
  • Must be 18+ years of age OR older
  • 2+ years of experience working with customers, managing and resolving escalated customer interactions
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology
  • Experience with computers and Windows based programs including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:30am - 5pm MST, Monday - Friday. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with EMR
  • Experience in a hospital, physician’s office or medical clinic setting
  • Experience working with Medicare and/or Medicaid Services

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Reside within the Pacific, Mountain, OR Central Time Zone
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $20.00 - $35.72 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
