Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is hiring for a healthcare support role in Henderson, NV. You will act as a Subject Matter Expert, manage member intake, and coordinate with hospitals and clinical teams to fulfill service requests.

The role involves handling referrals, authorizations, and census duties while resolving member/provider inquiries. Typical hours are Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm MST, with occasional travel to nearby locations for meetings.

Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare or managed care settings.
  • Experience in coordinating referrals, authorizations, and census-related tasks.
  • Willingness to travel to Henderson/Las Vegas campuses as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for other team members.
  • Manage the intake of members or admission/discharge information.
  • Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities and the clinical team to manage requests for services.
  • Manage the referral process, processing incoming and outgoing referrals and prior authorizations, including intake, notification and census roles.
  • Resolve inquiries from members and/or providers.
  • Coordinate moves with facilities (painters, repairs, etc.).
  • Manage device inventory.
  • Collaborate with marketing team and other departments.
  • Assist with reporting.
  • Be the go-to resource for information in challenging situations.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, typically 8am-5pm MST. The flexibility to work evening hours will also be required.


Location

1655 E. Cactus Ave. Henderson, NV. Will be required to travel to other Henderson and Las Vegas locations for meetings, etc.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for other team members

  • Manage the intake of members or the admission/discharge information post notification

  • Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities and the clinical team to manage requests for services

  • Manage the referral process, processing incoming and outgoing referrals and prior authorizations, including intake, notification and census roles

  • Resolve inquiries from members and/or providers

  • Coordinate moves with facilities (painters, repairs, etc.)

  • Manage device inventory

  • Collaborate with marketing team and other departments

  • Assist with reporting

  • Part of the challenge here is dealing positively with members and providers in sometimes challenging circumstances. As a subject matter expert, you’ll also be the \"go-to\" resource for information.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $20.00 to $36.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
