SavATree LLC is seeking a Lead Climber & Crew Development Specialist in Vineyard Haven, MA. The role focuses on lead climbing, crew development, and delivering high-quality tree care including pruning, removals, and cabling for diverse landscapes.

Qualifications

• Valid U.S. driver's license (CDL preferred).
• Authorization to work legally in the U.S.
• Passion for outdoor work and environmental stewardship.
• Proficient pruning techniques for large shade trees and ornamentals.
• Knowledge of tree and shrub species.
• Comfortable climbing without spurs.
• Experience with chainsaws, aerial lifts, and safety equipment.
• Adherence to ANSI A300 pruning standards and safety guidelines.
• Ability to perform aerial rescues.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Work well in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality tree care services including pruning, removals, and cabling.
• Climb trees safely using proper techniques, ropes, saddle, and ladders.
• Operate chainsaws, aerial lifts (bucket trucks), and other gear effectively.
• Apply ANSI A300 Pruning Standards and ANSI Z safety practices in all tasks.
• Ensure proper pruning cuts and preserve tree health and structure.
• Assist in tree removals using ropes, spikes, and safe takedown methods.
• Identify hazards and perform safety checks before, during, and after jobs.
• Perform aerial rescues if necessary, ensuring safety in high-risk situations.
• Maintain strong communication with team members and clients.
• Take ownership of role and foster a safety-focused team culture.
