About Us

Scientific Safety Alliance (SSA) exists to Accelerate Science. Delightfully. SSA is growing at an exceptional rate and was named to Inc. Magazine’s 2024 and 2025 lists of the fastest-growing private companies in America. How fast? In about three and a half years, we’ve acquired 28 companies, and our growth is only accelerating.

What makes SSA special? We’re 100% founder- and employee-owned. Every team member has a stake in the outcome, and everyone’s performance directly affects the value of their ownership. We serve the life sciences world, including pharmaceutical, biotech, hospital and research facilities that rely on us to keep their controlled environments compliant and ready for discovery. Our mission is simple: remove the friction so our customers can focus on innovation.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced technician who is equally comfortable testing and balancing systems and certifying cleanrooms. You’ll test, adjust and balance air and hydronic systems that support critical environments. You’ll also certify cleanrooms, biosafety cabinets, fume hoods and laminar flow benches to industry standards.

You’ll be one of SSA’s early technicians in Texas, which means real ownership, high visibility, and a clear path to leadership as we build our presence in the region. Technicians are the face of SSA. You’ll build trusted relationships with facility managers, lab leaders, contractors and quality teams, and ensure safety, compliance, uptime and an exceptional customer experience.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Test and balance

  • Perform testing, adjusting and balancing of HVAC air and hydronic systems in labs, cleanrooms, hospitals and pharmaceutical facilities.
  • Measure and adjust airflow, static pressure, temperature and room pressurization to meet design specifications.
  • Balance supply, return and exhaust systems, including terminal units, VAV boxes, fans and dampers.
  • Verify room pressure cascades and air change rates in critical environments.
  • Work with mechanical contractors, engineers and commissioning agents on new construction and renovation projects.
Customer and team
  • Produce accurate, complete and defensible test reports and certification documentation.
  • Explain findings clearly to customers and recommend corrective or preventive actions.
  • Keep the equipment database accurate, including inventory, service schedules and service history.
  • Share field insights and best practices with teammates, and help train newer technicians.
  • Protect company tools, vehicles and calibrated instruments while following strict safety and quality standards.
  • Represent SSA’s values in every customer interaction: autonomy, urgency, openness, integrity and embracing change.
Deliverables and Outcomes
  • Accurate, compliant TAB reports and certifications, with a documented error rate below 1%
  • 100% on-time, complete service reports and regulatory records
  • Daily and weekly productivity targets met through efficient routing and scheduling
  • High customer satisfaction
  • Equipment and airflow issues resolved quickly, with minimal customer downtime
  • Process improvements and field learnings shared across the organization
What We’re Looking For
  • Curious, mechanically minded problem-solvers who stay calm under pressure
  • Strong communicators who can explain findings to customers and build trust
  • Comfortable working independently, managing your own schedule and traveling
  • Comfortable with technology, including service software, tablets and reporting tools
  • Daily travel to customer sites across the Dallas–Fort Worth area, plus some overnight travel each week or month
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Open to relocating within 1–2 years to help launch a new SSA location
  • Equity ownership in SSA
  • 401(k) match
  • 100% paid medical, dental and vision insurance for employees and their families
  • Life insurance
  • Generous paid time off
