Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Classified Senior Systems Administrator in Michigan to manage classified data systems, networks, and storage security. The role emphasizes maintaining hardware, software, and backup/recovery procedures while ensuring compliance and system integrity.

You will troubleshoot complex issues, document configurations, and mentor junior staff in a fast-paced, secure environment. On-site work with occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in IT, CS, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• At least 5 years in systems administration with complex data systems.
• Experience with Windows, Linux, Unix operating systems and peripherals.
• Strong IT security understanding including encryption, access controls, and backups.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues using best practices and document outcomes.
• Experience mentoring team members and improving processes.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain classified computer systems hardware, software, information systems, and peripherals.
• Install, configure, and upgrade system hardware and software for performance, security, and compliance.
• Manage operating systems to stay up-to-date and secure.
• Develop and implement security and disaster recovery procedures.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and guide junior staff.
• Improve processes to boost performance, security, and efficiency.
• Mentor and train junior team members.
• Monitor system performance and propose optimizations.
• Ensure compliance with standards for classified systems.
• Document configurations, upgrades, and procedures.
• Support cross-functional deployment of new infrastructure.
• Serve as technical escalation for critical incidents.
