Job summary

SpaceX in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced senior network engineer to lead the design, deployment, and operation of classified networks supporting critical national security missions. You will own network design, drive improvements, and ensure security and reliability across campus and data center environments.

The role requires TS/SCI/DOE clearance, hands-on experience with NAC 802.1X, BGP, and Arista/Cisco switches, plus the ability to work independently and in a team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other STEM discipline with 7+ years of network engineering experience; or 10+ years in lieu of a degree.
• 1+ year of deploying enterprise networks or cloud/web-scale networks.
• Active Top Secret, Top Secret SCI, or DOE Level Q clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and troubleshooting of classified networks.
• Lead network integration and troubleshooting efforts.
• Improve network performance and reliability using performance metrics and capacity planning.
• Support capacity augmentation and network optimization deployments.
• Assist with system configuration updates and firmware management.
• Configure, install, and support campus and data center networks.
• Support deployment of NAC using 802.1X.
• Build automation for network devices and deployment tools.
• Develop and enforce network policies and standards.
• Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation.
