Job summary

Berkley Southeast Insurance Group (BSIG) is hiring a Senior Claims Specialist to manage and resolve commercial general liability claims from simple to complex. You will review losses, investigate coverage issues, and coordinate with insureds, agents and vendors.

The role requires at least five years of casualty claim experience, strong communication, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Remote work may be considered for highly qualified candidates outside commuting distance.

Qualifications

• Min of 5 years of casualty claim experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of tort and contract law and experience in auditing/reviewing casualty claim files.

Responsibilities

• Review losses and manage claims through coverage analysis, investigation, damages evaluation, reserving and resolution on non-litigated casualty claims.
• Manage bodily injury claims, auto damage claims and total loss claims processes, including vehicle appraisal and subrogation.
• Establish timely and accurate claim and expense reserves.
• Negotiate settlements within authority limits and communicate with stakeholders.
• Maintain claim files and ensure compliance with state regulations.
