Job summary

OdysseyRe in New York City is seeking a Senior Claims Specialist to lead coverage analysis, investigation, and resolution of complex general liability claims with emphasis on construction matters.

You will collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, and management to drive disciplined claims handling, manage high-exposure files, and coordinate with external counsel to achieve favorable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of claims experience across general liability.
• Coverage analysis, liability assessment, and damages evaluation on complex claims.
• Experience managing moderate to high severity claims through all lifecycle stages.

Responsibilities

• Conduct coverage analysis, liability assessment, and damages evaluation on complex claims.
• Manage a caseload of moderate to high severity claims through all lifecycle phases.
• Coordinate outside defense counsel to align litigation with company objectives.
• Develop and execute resolution strategies for litigated and non-litigated matters.
• Establish timely case reserves and monitor reserve adequacy.
• Collaborate with underwriting on policy interpretation and loss trends.
• Provide claims reporting and trend analysis to management.
• Travel to mediations, trials, and other proceedings as required.
