Job summary

Aditi Consulting is seeking a Claims Investigator & Settlements specialist to support cross-functional teams in our U.S. operations.

You will investigate OS&D claims, audit PODs, BOLs, and shipping docs, and determine credit or chargebacks after thorough analysis. Responsibilities include filing and tracking freight claims with carriers and underwriters, negotiating settlements, maintaining aging reports, and collaborating with Warehouse, Billing, Customer Service, and Finance to resolve AR/AP

Qualifications

• Experience with OS&D claims investigations.
• Proficiency in logistics ERP systems (SAP, Cello Logistics Platform, WMS/TMS).
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, reconciliations).

Responsibilities

• Claims Investigation & Validation: audit OS&D claims and related shipping documents.
• Carrier & 3PL Financial Recovery: file, track, and negotiate settlements with carriers and insurers.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration & Settlement: coordinate with Warehouse Ops, Billing/Settlement, Customer Service and Finance.
• Reporting & Root-Cause Analysis: track trends and identify bottlenecks.

Job description

• Investigate OS&D (Overage, Shortage, and Damage) claims, shipment refusals, and carrier disputes.
• Audit Proof of Delivery (POD), bills of lading (BOL), shipping documentation, and inspection photos to verify the legitimacy of claims.
• Research deductions, customer disputes, and overpayments to determine whether credit is warranted or whether chargebacks/repay letters need to be issued.
• File and track freight claims with carriers, freight forwarders, and insurance underwriters.
• Negotiate settlements and recoveries according to carrier liability rules, contracts, and insurance coverage.
• Maintain and update claims aging reports to minimize outstanding balances.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration & Settlement
  • Work closely with Warehouse Operations, Billing/Settlement, Customer Service, and Transportation teams to resolve operational discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with Accounting and Finance teams to reconcile accounts receivable (AR)/accounts payable (AP) impacts from deductions and settlements.
• Track claim trends and metrics (e.g., claim frequency by carrier, product type, or region) to identify systemic operational bottlenecks.
• Recommend packaging, handling, or routing process enhancements to mitigate recurring cargo damage or loss.

Payrate

$37.00 - $37.27/hr.

Pay Transparency

The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is:$37.00 - $37.27/hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
