Job summary

Coverys is seeking a Manager, Claims to oversee the claims team, reserve decisions, and defense counsel to ensure timely, cost-effective case disposition. The role requires advanced knowledge of medicine and litigation trends, plus strong supervisory capabilities.

Base salary ranges from $132,300 to $178,900, with compensation determined by location, experience and education. The candidate will lead staff, participate in strategic planning, and coordinate with other departments to serve insureds

Qualifications

• Requires 3+ years of supervisory/management experience.
• Broad knowledge of medicine and familiarity with litigation concepts.
• Knowledge of insurance policy contracts, especially med-mal and general liability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee claims staff file handling and reserve accuracy.
• Evaluate liability, damages and causation; approve settlements within authority.
• Monitor staff performance, training needs and compliance with claims policies.
