Job summary

Capital Insurance Group in Spokane, WA seeks an experienced Claims Legal attorney to support complex claim files, provide settlement analysis, and advise on jurisdictional issues across claims. The position is hybrid, with in-office work Monday–Wednesday and remote days Thursday–Friday, and requires a JD, active license in the U.S., and at least eight years of

Qualifications

• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Bar admission in any CIG operating state (AZ, CA, NV, OR, WA).
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in property and casualty insurance.
• Experience advising on or litigating first party property coverage issues.
• CPCU preferred.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Consult with claims staff on coverage, indemnification, policy limit reviews, and related issues.
• Identify coverage issues requiring outside counsel and coordinate accordingly.
• Directly handle some policyholder suits and participate in mediations as needed.
• Assist in training claims staff on jurisdictional issues and Fair Claims Practices.
• Collaborate with Panel Counsel to ensure consistent service to insureds.
