Job summary

MEM MUTUAL INSURANCE in Columbia, MO, seeks a seasoned Claims Consultant to oversee high-exposure workers’ compensation claims, conduct Plan of Action meetings, and drive best practices across the claims organization.

This role partners with senior management to ensure proper reserving, investigations, and settlement strategies, providing coaching and training to staff through CARE reviews and related initiatives.

Qualifications

• Ten plus years' related and progressively responsible experience in commercial liability claims.
• Experience conducting Plan of Action meetings and CARE Reviews.
• Experience mentoring field claim staff and providing technical oversight.

Responsibilities

• Promote leadership and technical development for field claim staff.
• Conduct monthly Plan of Action meetings on high exposure claims (> $500,000).
• Provide coaching on workers' compensation coverage, determinations, and litigation issues.
• Conduct CARE reviews to monitor progress and trends in operations.
• Investigate and manage Employers Liability claims and lawsuits.
