Job summary

Selective Insurance is seeking a forward‑thinking Claims Architect to design, modernize, and integrate complex claims solutions. You will lead architecture across Claims platforms, driving cloud-native design with Azure, microservices, containers, REST/GraphQL, and API-first approaches.

You will partner with business and tech leaders to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient systems that improve operations and customer outcomes, while guiding governance, security, and engineering excellence

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of application development experience and 3+ years in a Solution, Application, or Enterprise Architecture role.
• Deep expertise across application, integration, data, security, and cloud architecture, with experience in .NET, Pega, Oracle, SQL, Azure.

Responsibilities

• Create system blueprints and multi-year roadmaps for Claims platforms and integrations.
• Lead cloud-native modernization using Azure services, microservices, containers, and platform engineering capabilities.
• Define integration patterns including REST/GraphQL, event-driven approaches, and shared services.
• Establish coding standards, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
• Assess technical debt and modernization plans, aligning with enterprise standards.
