Qualifications

• 3 years of claims and/or carrier lead compliance experience in logistics.
• Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience minimum preferred.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel, Adobe PDF and related programs.
• Familiarity with Google Drive (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.).
• Customer-service minded and proactive in follow-up on projects.

Responsibilities

• Leads in thoroughly investigating and settling claims, including OS&D, Bond, and Property Damage.
• Support all carrier compliance duties, including Highway updates and carrier approval requests.
• Assist in the carrier vetting and carrier onboarding process.
• Monitor changes in the transportation industry, including government regulations.
• Escalate to the CCM for severe OS&D incidents across departments.
• Conduct internal audits of procurement operations.
• Provide risk management training including new-hire orientations.
• Ensure Transportation One’s safety and compliance standards are maintained.

Job description

As a Senior Claims and Compliance Representative, you’ll support several key areas of our claims and compliance function, including carrier compliance administration, investigating and settling freight claims, and carrier onboarding. This role works closely with internal teams and customers, serving as a reliable point of contact throughout the claims and compliance process.

Maintaining Transportation One’s safety and compliance standards is another key part of the position, including conducting internal audits, providing risk management training, and staying current on transportation industry regulations. We’re looking for someone who brings strong attention to detail, takes initiative, and can manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Duties and responsibilities

• Leads in thoroughly investigating and settling claims, including OS&D, Bond, and Property Damage
• Support all carrier compliance duties, including Highway updates and carrier approval requests
• Assist in the carrier vetting and carrier onboarding process
• Monitor changes in the transportation industry, including government regulations
• Assist the Claims and Compliance Manager (CCM) as an escalation point of contact for all departments when severe OS&D occurs
• Conducts internal audits of procurement operations
• Conducts risk management training including new-hire orientations
• Ensure T1’s standards for safety and compliance policies are maintained

Additional duties may be assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

• 3 years of claims and/or carrier lead compliance experience in logistics, with 5 years of overall industry experience
• Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience minimum preferred
• Extensive experience and knowledge with Microsoft Excel, Adobe PDF and other programs
• Familiarity with Google Drive (G-mail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.) preferred
• Customer-service minded
• Proactively follow up on assigned projects
• Ability to effectively multi-task while maintaining accuracy in work
• Desire to take initiative in work
• Ability to work well with a team and independently
• Customer and carrier contract knowledge preferred

A combination of the above shall also be considered.

Working conditions

General office environment. Work is generally performed in a seated position with a high volume of computer screen reading, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard equipment available.

Presence at Transportation One's Chicago HQ is required.
