Job summary

Sedgwick is hiring a Senior Adjuster to investigate claims against insurance or other companies and to negotiate out-of-court settlements with claimants. The role requires handling complex losses, determining coverage, interviewing stakeholders, and inspecting damages locally.

You will also prepare detailed reports and may recommend litigation when settlements cannot be reached. Qualified candidates typically have a bachelor’s degree (IIA-AIC designation pursued) and an active adjuster license,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; IIA-AIC designation pursued; state adjuster license required.
• Five (5) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Investigates claims and negotiates settlements with claimants.
• Examines claim forms to determine insurance coverage.
• Interviews claimants and witnesses and inspects property damage.
• Estimates repair, replacement, or compensation costs.
• Prepares findings and recommends litigation when needed.
• Attends litigation hearings and adjusts reserves as required.
• Assists in loss experience reporting and profitability analysis.
• Travels as required.
