KPFF Special Projects Division in Long Beach, CA, seeks a Senior Civil Transportation Engineer to lead complex roadway and transportation improvement projects on design-build and design-bid-build contracts.

You will refine expertise in transportation engineering, contribute to design, project management, and provide outstanding client service. Applicants should have a CA PE and 8+ years of experience in civil design, with strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 8+ years civil design experience with a PE in CA or reciprocity.
• Proficiency in ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Civil3D; familiarity with MicroStation and OpenRoads.
• Knowledge of AASHTO standards and DOT guidelines (Caltrans/FHWA).
• Strong teamwork, communication, and client-service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil design for roadway and transportation projects.
• Manage project tasks, timelines, budgets, and resources.
• Coordinate with clients, agencies, and internal teams.
• Mentor junior staff and promote quality control.
• Ensure regulatory compliance throughout the design lifecycle.
