Job summary

Kairos Power seeks a Senior Licensing Engineer with a strong civil/structural background to support licensing of the KP-FHR reactor facility. You will work across design, safety analysis, construction and technology teams to ensure regulatory requirements are translated into practical civil/structural design deliverables.

Cyber-regulatory involvement is expected, with training provided to build licensing expertise.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or master's in Civil, Structural, Nuclear, or related engineering field.
6+ years in facility or system engineering design, analysis, construction, qualification, inspection, or implementation; civil/structural experience preferred.
Experience in structural or facility design with understanding of design, construction and implementation of new technologies.

Responsibilities

Develop licensing content and programs for reactor facility civil/structural systems focusing on buildings, foundations and supports.
Lead planning, development and defense of Kairos Power license applications.
Prepare for and support NRC pre-application meetings.
Develop licensing strategies to support license applications and regulatory compliance.
Lead resolution of regulatory issues including design criteria, seismic design and material qualification.
