Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 7–15 years of experience in a similar role.
• Texas PE license required; multi-state licensure preferred.
• Current NCEES Record and willingness to obtain new state licenses.
• Commitment to continuing education and self-development.
• Experience with structural steel, reinforced concrete, and foundation design.
• Familiar with site grading and drainage.
• Knowledge of ACI 318, AISC, ASCE 7 or PIP standards.
• Experience in multi-discipline team environments.
• Experience with structural software such as RISA, STAAD, Dimensional Solutions.
• Experience in a 3D project environment (Navisworks).

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of complete design packages for multi-discipline projects under supervision of Project Managers and/or Senior Engineers
• Prepare calculations and perform detailed analysis
• Participate in planning and designing structures and facilities
• Review design drawings and incorporate basic design corrections
• Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria
• Prepare written documents such as specifications, reports, etc.
• Initiate discussions within the project team to arrive at design solutions with best value for limited construction cost
• Maintain awareness of safety hazards in the field
• Industries served include compressor stations, meter stations, transmission sites, truck loading facilities, etc.
