Job summary

S&B is seeking an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer to join our Lake Charles, LA team. The role requires independent judgment on standard design techniques for small to mid-sized projects, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and timely delivery.

Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 7 years of Civil/Structural experience and hold a PE registration, ABET accreditation, and the ability to work in a collaborative EPC environment in Lake Charles, LA.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of Civil/Structural Engineering experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required.
• ABET-accredited degree in Civil/Structural Engineering is required.

Responsibilities

• Determines client requirements and develops specifications, drawings, instructions, and related documents.
• Reviews vendor drawings for major components.
• Evaluates need for design changes and makes appropriate recommendations.
• Consults with construction personnel concerning design constructability as related to field conditions, sequencing, and scheduling of construction activities.
• Ensures that production of drawings, specifications, reports, and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements.
• May plan, schedule, coordinate, and oversee the work of lower-level engineers and specialists who assist with particular projects.
• Provides conceptual design input for preliminary project estimates.

Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (ABET accredited curriculum)
