Chicago Bridge & Iron Company is seeking a structural designer with 5–8 years of relevant experience to join our Plainfield office. You will develop structural models and generate typical drawings, reading design criteria and coordinating with suppliers and colleagues.
Qualified candidates have an Associate degree in CAD or similar and hands-on experience with Microstation or AutoCAD and Plant Design Software (PDS/Frameworks) or Smartplant 3D. Excellent communication skills are essential.

General Description includes modeling and detailing the structural elements of an assigned scope of work in a CB&I project including creation of specific deliverables such as structural section drawings, detail drawings, column layout drawings, framing plans, structural standard details, connection details, grating and handrail details, beam connection drawings, support schedules as well as lifting and handling assembly drawings. Maintains and promotes a focus on CB&I’s end product whether engineering, fabrication or construction. Ensures effective communications with supervisor, project leads and other engineering disciplines.
