Job summary

Children’s Health Defense (CHD) seeks a Lead Litigation Counsel to guide strategy and execution for the Civil Rights & Health Freedom Division’s high-impact cases. You will oversee legal staff, coordinate with outside counsel, and drive complex litigation from filing through appeal.

The role requires a J.D., 8+ years in complex federal litigation, and strong advocacy across health freedom, religious liberty, and constitutional rights. Remote position with travel <30% and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school required.
• 8+ years of litigation experience with substantial responsibility for complex federal litigation.
• Demonstrated experience handling constitutional, civil rights, administrative, public interest, or related matters.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, strategy, and execution of CHD’s civil rights and health freedom portfolio.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, and other filings; conduct discovery; appear at hearings and trials.
• Coordinate litigation teams; supervise staff attorneys and outside counsel.
• Develop appellate strategy; manage budgets and timelines.
