Job summary

NAACP Legal Defense & Educational Fund, Inc. (LDF) seeks an experienced Senior Counsel to join the Litigation Department. The Senior Counsel will strategize on a range of civil rights matters, lead case teams across LDF’s docket, and report to the Director or Deputy Director of Litigation.

The role operates in a hybrid setting with in-office requirements. Ideal candidate has a JD and 10+ years of litigation experience, with a demonstrated commitment to racial justice and strong research,

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree required.
• Minimum of 10 years of litigation experience with bar admission in NY, DC, or GA or eligible to waive in.
• Commitment to the racial justice mission of LDF; strong research, writing, and advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Litigating the full range of racial justice issues across federal and state courts and agencies.
• Leading and supervising case teams and advising on complex civil rights matters.
• Drafting petitions, briefs, and memos; coordinating with policy and advocacy teams.
• Representing LDF in media, conferences, and public venues; building community partnerships.
