Job summary

The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. (MSG) is seeking a Civil Project Manager (Residential) to lead civil site development for large residential communities in Columbus, Ohio.

You will manage scope, schedule, budgets, and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects from concept through construction. Ideal candidates hold a PE (Ohio preferred or obtainable within 6 months), a BS in civil engineering, 8+ years of relevant experience, and strong AutoCAD Civil 3D skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license, ideally in Ohio or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 8+ years of civil site development experience, with at least 2 years focused on residential land development.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D (alignments, corridors, grading, profiles, pipe networks).
• Demonstrated experience managing clients, projects, budgets, and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of local development codes, stormwater regulations, and residential design standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering design for large residential developments, including master planning, lot layouts, road networks, and open-space design.
• Oversee grading and earthwork balancing, sanitary, storm, and water utility design.
• Manage project scope, schedule, resourcing, and budget; oversee construction drawings and permitting packages.
• Serve as primary client contact for residential developers, builders, and landowners; present deliverables to clients and authorities.
• Coordinate permitting with municipalities, local agencies, and Ohio EPA; navigate zoning and entitlement processes.
• Provide construction-phase oversight: site visits, RFIs, reviewing change orders, coordinating with contractors.
• Direct and mentor a team of engineers, designers, and technicians; promote cross-disciplinary collaboration.
