Job summary

Passero Associates, LLC, a multi-disciplIinary engineering firm, seeks a Civil Project Engineer/Senior Civil Engineer for our Newburgh, NY office. The role focuses on municipal and private development projects with leadership in grading, drainage, and water/ sewer systems from concept through construction.

The successful candidate will prepare construction documents, review with clients, and guide junior engineers, contributing to project delivery and quality across public bids and private work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• PE license in NY or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• 5–12 years of civil/site design experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, including surface modeling and plan production workflows.
• Experience in grading and drainage design, stormwater calculations, and drainage reports.

Responsibilities

• Develop civil engineering design documents from concept through final design and construction.
• Lead site grading and drainage design, including drainage pattern development and accessibility considerations.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, including time-of-concentration calculations and modeling.
• Design detention/retention systems and stormwater conveyance infrastructure.
• Coordinate water, sanitary sewer, and other site utility systems with stakeholders.
• Prepare complete construction plan sets, technical reports, and bid documents.
• Mentor CAD staff and junior engineers.
