Job summary

SES Civil and Environmental LLC is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Civil Division with engineering analyses, technical writing, permit applications, and mentorship of teammates in Knoxville, TN. The role emphasizes quality control, project documentation, and coordinating design deliverables with field teams.

The position requires a BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, 7+ years of field experience, and preferred PE license.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent field of study.
PE license preferred.
7+ years of field experience; design experience preferred.
Experience in technical writing and quality control management.
Familiar with project management tools for planning and tracking budget/schedule (MS Project, Primavera P6, Procore).
Familiar with surveying/earthwork layout; able to read blueprints and geotechnical reports.
Willingness to travel 10–20% as required.

Responsibilities

Prepare written past project descriptions for business development and RFQ responses.
Prepare technical approaches for requests for proposals and qualification packages.
Prepare preconstruction plans including Accident Prevention, Quality Control, and Environmental plans.
Prepare project product submittals and review for contract conformance.
Supervise accident prevention activities and ensure safety compliance on site.
Perform quality control inspections, daily reports, and schedule control.
Assist field personnel and project team with design plan and specification requirements.
